Few exist today who do not subscribe to the belief that education is a
fundamental right and that it holds the promise of uplifting the quality of life for
individuals and society. Those of us at OUM who have guided and graduated
adult learners would be able to amply attest to the gratifying ways in which
education remodels thinking, mental orientation, self-identity, and career
trajectory.
As heartening as the success stories may be, it behoves us nonetheless to
query the extent to which diverse learners have equal access to opportunities
afforded by education. This query constitutes the heart of the main feature of
Issue 8, courtesy of Prof Dr Rozhan M. Idrus, the inaugural holder of OUM's
Azman Hashim Chair in E-Learning.
We hope you will find the features in this issue edifying. And we wish you a
productive semester ahead.
