Editorial Note

Issue 4 of inspired has as its main feature a reflective essay on ethical education penned by YBhg Prof Dato’ Dr Mansor Fadzil, President/Vice Chancellor of OUM. As is known to many, Dato’ Mansor draws inspiration from his regular work travels. Picking up on ideas big and small that present themselves to him along the way, he selectively introduces them into OUM for continuous institutional improvement. It was his recent travel to Varanasi for a conference, where the Dalai Lama delivered a welcoming address, that prompted him to consolidate his idea about the importance of having the right intentions behind one’s actions and decision-making.

Highlighted also in this issue are two new profiles of OUM academics in the recently-introduced my_philosophy column. Read them to better understand what drives their educational mission.

On behalf of the University, I wish everyone a rewarding new semester and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
